Empowering Lives Near and Abroad

Journey to Freedom is a global non-profit organization transforming lives holistically by empowering others to heal from the inside and out— addressing deeply rooted issues of the heart such as lack of forgiveness as well as essential external concerns such as food, education, healthcare, and employment.

Journey to Freedom team members with special partner, Solomon Nabie, Director of Interchristian Fellowships’ Evangelical Mission in Kimillili, Kenya (Africa)

As we began 2025, Journey to Freedom reflected on a year of transformative milestones and meaningful connections. During our annual trip to Africa in September, we reached over 3,000 individuals with the Gospel, held two impactful clinics, and distributed essential goods to those in need. Among the many highlights, we celebrated the 60th birthday of our founder and visionary, Vickie Coakley-Thornton, with a joyous weekend marked by a surprise visit from our Kenyan partner, Solomon Nabie! He is pictured above with the team. What a beautiful way to celebrate such growth for a small non-profit, aiming to do very big things here and abroad.

YOU SAVED LIVES IN KENYA!

Thanks to the unwavering commitment of our team and the generous support of our community, 2024 saw the successful acquisition and installation of a CT scan at IcFEM Dreamland Hospital, significantly enhancing access to critical healthcare in Bungoma.
